WHAT IS KAPPA LEAGUE?

The Kappa League Program is a part of the National Guide Right Program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

It serves as a mechanism for undergraduate and graduate members of the Fraternity to serve as mentors and leaders within their local communities.

 

Purpose
The purpose of the Kappa League is to promote and develop the leadership potential of its members through participation in club-oriented activities and at the same time motivate them to raise their aspiration level.

The members of the Denton-Lewisville Kappa League shall be those male persons who have been duly inducted into the Kappa League program. Once inducted, the young man shall thereafter be a member of that program, as well as a member of the National Kappa Youth Leadership & Development League.

The Kappa League Program is a fraternity sponsored programs to inspire Kappa League growth

  • Cultural enrichment activities

  • Leadership observation tours

  • Socials

  • Religious emphasis services

  • Tutorial programs

  • Retreats

  • Awards

  • Presentations

  • Moving-up exercises

 

Areas of discussion for Kappa League members to initiate interesting projects which give them leadership training:

  • Peer tutorial programs

  • Socials

  • Sport participation and attendance

  • Kappa League management

  • Community projects

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY

The members of the Denton-Lewisville Kappa League shall consist of male students properly enrolled in middle and/ or high school (grades 6th – 12th), who meet the membership eligibility requirements as stipulated by the Denton-Lewisville Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Prospective candidates should attend orientation meetings to acquaint themselves with the goals and expected outcomes of the Kappa League program. After successful completion of orientation, prospective candidates should participate in the Kappa League Induction Ceremony.

At a minimum, each person inducted into the Kappa League program shall, at the time of induction:

  • Be 12-18 years old

  • Demonstrate a desire to participate in the program and be willing to abide by Kappa League program rules

  • Be able to obtain parental/guardian permission and ongoing support for participation in the program

  • Agree to a one-year commitment to the program

  • Complete the screening procedure (application, interview and orientation)
