Dallas, TX – June 2025 — On the historic campus of Paul Quinn College, the annual Kappa Kamp once again stood as a beacon of leadership, brotherhood, and personal development for young men across the nation. Founded by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Kamp is a week-long enrichment program that empowers middle and high school students through structured activities, educational workshops, and mentorship from positive Black male role models.
This year’s Kamp was infused with a spirit of unity and excellence as the Denton-Lewisville (TX) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi made its impactful presence felt during DLA Day—a designated day where the chapter commits time and service to support the Kamp’s vision of developing young leaders.
Nearly 20 chapter members volunteered their time and energy, helping prepare and serve meals while engaging directly with the young campers. Their presence was not only a logistical support, but a visual reinforcement that Black men do show up, support one another, and invest in the next generation.
Brother Marcus D. Taylor, Vice Polemarch of the Denton-Lewisville Alumni Chapter, served as the keynote speaker for the day. He delivered a powerful message on self-directed learning and the importance of equipping oneself with knowledge and discipline in an ever-evolving world.

Taylor introduced the campers to artificial intelligence tools that could be used for studying, researching business ideas, or even launching community-based organizations. His interactive session allowed the young men to explore how tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot can be leveraged for academic success and entrepreneurial innovation. The campers eagerly asked questions, shared ideas, and imagined future ventures that could not only earn income but uplift their communities.

“Our youth is something we should never wanna take for granted. They are the undiscovered treasures of our tomorrow.”
Randal Hawthorne Denton-Lewisville Chapter Polemarch
Kamp Director Maurice West expressed his admiration and gratitude for the Denton-Lewisville chapter’s commitment:

“It means everything when Black men show up for each other. What the brothers did today showed these young men that not only can we support each other—we can educate and edify each other. That unity was evident in the excitement of every camper during DLA Day.”
The 2025 DLA Day at Kappa Kamp was more than a moment—it was a movement in action. The Denton-Lewisville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. continues to live out the fraternity’s motto: Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor, investing not just in words, but in works that will echo into the future of the young men they serve.
