On July 27, 2025, the gymnasium/cafeteria of Charlie McKamy Elementary School in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD was transformed into a vibrant hub of service, education, and community impact. Hosted by the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) North Dallas Suburbia Council, the Back to School Bash welcomed families from across the region and featured over 30 participating Graduate and Alumni chapters of the Divine Nine.
As families entered the building, they were met with rows of chapter tables distributing school supplies—backpacks, pencils, pens, folders, glue sticks, erasers, and containers—to ensure students were fully equipped for the upcoming school year. The event also offered health screenings, sports physicals, a Health & Wellness Fair, voter registration, and barber services, providing a well-rounded support experience for families. DJ Feisty and DJ Mario B provided high-energy music throughout the afternoon.
Among the contributors was the Denton-Lewisville (TX) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., which deployed 9 members to assist with school supply distribution and event support. Also in attendance were the Richardson-Plano (TX) Alumni Chapter and Frisco (TX) Alumni Chapter, working side-by-side in fraternal collaboration.

Though the event was held outside of the Denton-Lewisville chapter’s immediate area of influence, their strong participation demonstrated a larger truth:
As members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the Denton-Lewisville (TX) Alumni Chapter remains committed to serving wherever called, not just within its local footprint. Their willingness to collaborate across chapter lines reflects a spirit of unified service that transcends geographic boundaries.
Chapter Polemarch Randal Hawthorne affirmed this commitment, stating:
“Today was about more than handing out supplies—it was about showing up as one community. Denton-Lewisville came out in force to represent our commitment to the youth and to stand alongside our fellow chapters in shared purpose. Even outside our typical region, we’re here to serve.”
This year’s Back to School Bash was a powerful reminder of the impact NPHC organizations can make through collective service. More than just a one-day event, it was a symbol of what’s possible when mission, manpower, and collaboration come together for the betterment of our communities.
