Timber Creek Cleanup: Denton-Lewisville Alumni Chapter Leads the Way in Community Impact

On the morning of Saturday, July 19, 2025, the Denton-Lewisville (TX) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. once again demonstrated what Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor truly looks like—this time, with work gloves and trash bags in hand. As part of the City of Lewisville’s Timber Creek Cleanup, held at Central Park (1899 S. Edmonds, Lewisville, TX), the chapter came out in full force to support this impactful community initiative.

Organized by the Community Service Chairman, Brother Dr. Mikos Smith, and led on-site by Brother Omari Souza, this event brought together a united front of brothers, family members, and friends. With a turnout of nearly 20 volunteers, the Denton-Lewisville Alumni Chapter was the largest represented group at the event—a reflection of the chapter's deep commitment to civic engagement and environmental stewardship.

Volunteers arrived promptly at 8:00 AM, where they joined other community members in efforts to clean and beautify the Timber Creek area. The team was focused, enthusiastic, and well-organized as they tackled debris and contributed to the preservation of a beloved public space. The event concluded at 10:00 AM, but the impression made by the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi lingered far beyond the morning's efforts.

This type of visible, hands-on service is a cornerstone of the chapter’s mission—not only to uplift the communities in which they live and serve but also to model excellence and responsibility for younger generations. Events like these also strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and family, as children, spouses, and supporters join in shared purpose.

The Denton-Lewisville Alumni Chapter remains committed to engaging in meaningful service throughout the North Texas region, and the Timber Creek Cleanup stands as another proud example of what it means to serve with intention, unity, and impact.
